PROFESSIONAL COACHING

Our experienced coaching staff is dedicated to developing each player’s technical skills, tactical understanding, confidence, and love for soccer.

Training sessions are designed to be both challenging and enjoyable, ensuring players continue improving while having fun in a positive environment.

Each age group will have a designated Lead Coach responsible for overseeing player development, training curriculum, and communication throughout the season.

While the Lead Coach will remain actively involved with the age group, they may not attend every game. LCFC utilizes a coaching pool model where multiple qualified coaches may support teams throughout the season. We strive to maintain as much consistency as possible regarding game assignments and coaching groups.

COMPETITIVE PLAY

Participants will have the opportunity to compete in regular league matches and tournaments, helping them apply their skills in real-game environments while continuing to build confidence and decision-making abilities.

DEVELOPMENT FOCUS

Beyond soccer skills, our program emphasizes important life skills such as teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, resilience, and communication.

We aim to help develop well-rounded athletes who grow both on and off the field.

IN-SEASON TRAINING

Two practices per week during both the spring and fall seasons, along with additional free play opportunities and optional supplemental training opportunities throughout the year.

GOALKEEPER SPECIFIC TRAINING

Two to four goalkeeper-specific training sessions per month during both the spring and fall seasons.

WINTER TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

Optional winter training opportunities may be offered throughout the offseason depending on facility availability, coaching schedules, and player interest.

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT & ROSTER FLEXIBILITY

At the Academy ages, player development remains the primary focus. Rosters and training groups may be adjusted following the fall season as players continue to grow and develop at different rates.

Our goal is always to place players in environments that best support their long-term development, confidence, and enjoyment of the game.

PLAYING TIME PHILOSOPHY

At the Academy ages, player development and game experience are prioritized over results.

LCFC’s goal is for all Academy players to receive approximately 60% or greater playing time over the course of the season, provided they are consistently attending trainings, games, and demonstrating positive team behavior.

Occasionally, unique scheduling situations may arise, particularly at the younger Academy ages, where opposing clubs may not have enough teams available to match all of our registered teams. In these situations, temporary roster combinations may occur in order to provide appropriate game opportunities for all players.

During those limited circumstances, playing time may occasionally be reduced closer to approximately 50% for a particular match, but our expectation is that meaningful game participation remains a consistent priority throughout the season.

Our focus at these ages remains centered on long-term player development, confidence, enjoyment, and maximizing opportunities to learn through game experience.
